Stepping on a Bee's Nest, Part II

As i'm sure you know, I've stepped on a bee's nest. What you don't know is the story of how the weekend ended. And it ended as oddly as it began.
The last day of the trip, we decided to explore an abandoned train tunnel. And yes, it was just as cool as it sounds.

After our trek, we made it back to the car. Which of course didn't start. Now keep in mind, we were hiking towards an abandoned train tunnel, so we were in the middle of nowhere. And before you ask, this was before cell phones. But even if it was today, your cell phone would have been useless. We were that far off the beaten track.
So we hoofed it over to the nearest person's house. Which was a couple of miles down the road. And a nice old lady answered the door, and said we could come on in and use her phone. When we walked in, I was immediately fascinated by her decorating theme. Firepower. I think she could have shot it out with special ops, and not even have batted an eye. This is roughly how I remember her looking:

Finally, we got in touch with a tow truck driver, who said he could be out to us in a little bit. So we walked back to our car, and waited for the tow truck driver. Which is what you will have to do too. Because the tow truck driver is a story for tomorrow.

  8. Old ladies and their guns, it keeps people scared from trying to rob them. Their years of junk piled high is valuable to them. I hope the tow truck didn't take to long.

  13. Bees are the pain in my existence. Every summer I get stung! And every summer my car dies, too. So I think I know where you're going with the tow-truck driver story. I'm glad to see you survived.
